Naomi gained first-hand experience of nautical PR, media liaison, fund-raising and communications with BP Ocean Racing Team throughout their round-the-world campaign. During the campaign itself and two years of preparations, she raised £27,000 for her personal berth fee, managed and fronted the team’s media liaison with the national and international press and held joint responsibility for team fund-raising for the official race charity Save the Children. She wrote daily logs aboard BP Explorer for which she won a Unisys media prize and was commissioned to write a book about the race, whilst under way, for sponsors BP, which you can view here.
